In place of his scheduled recital, Spivey Hall will honor his memory with a special concert on this day, February 1, 2014, at 3:00 PM.

Spivey Hall Organist-in-Residence from January 1994 to September 2013, Richard Morris was a brilliant musician, renowned for his extraordinary career, his technical mastery, his deep knowledge of style, and his unique way with words as revealed by his great wealth of historical anecdotes and his inimitable wit.

This concert, to include performances by organists Alan Morrison and Peter Carter, will pay tribute to his memory and feature works from his repertoire.

A post-concert reception for the audience and artists, hosted by the Friends of Spivey Hall, will be held in the lobby.

Admission to the Richard Morris Memorial Concert is free, but tickets are required, and are available from the Box Office
